Kate Beckinsale returning as Selene in Fifth Underworld instalment
With a fifth instalment in the Underworld franchise coming to cinemas, it has been revealed that franchise star Kate Beckinsale, who was last seen as Selene over three years in Underworld: Awakening will return to her role.
It was first believed that Beckinsale might not reprise her role, however according to The Hollywood Reporter she will definitely be back.
Occupying the Director’s chair for the fifth instalment will be Anna Foerster making her the first female Director to head up the action-horror franchise.
Divergent franchise start Theo James is also returning as Selena's ally David following his debut in Underworld: Awakening.
Written by Cory Goodman, the fifth entry is said to focus on a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves, it will begin shooting in Prague this October.
Beckinsale was last seen alongside Cara Delevingne in Michael Winterbottom’s The Face of an Angel and she has Whit Stillman’s Love and Friendship, Terry Jones’s Absolutely Anything alongside Simon Pegg and D.J. Caruso’s The Disappointments Room in post production.
