Sicario’s Benicio Del Toro may not be a villain in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII after all

16 September 2015

Whilst Benicio Del Toro has confirmed his involvement in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, he may not be a villain as first thought.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Del Toro said "I don't know if he's a villain. People are saying that, but it's like they read a different script than I read.

It's nice to keep people in the dark, a little bit of mystery is good. If they want to believe it's the villain, then good."

Under the direction of Johnson, Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to begin shooting this month on the Irish Island Skellig Michael, the locate was used for the December release of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.

Del Toro will next be seen alongside Emily Blunt in Sicario, which is due to hit cinemas on October 8.
