I FEEL PRETTY Actress Busy Philipps Opens Up about her relationship with the Kardashians, Finding Love and Struggles With Online Trolls

26 April 2018

This Friday’s i newspaper features actress Busy Philipps, who opens up about her relationship with writer-director Marc Silverstein and her lifelong friendship with Dawson’s Creek co-star Michele Williams.

In this candid interview, the actress also talks about how she deals with online trolls and her friendship with the Kardashians.

Interview highlights:

On her experience with internet trolls “If I’m being totally honest with you, there’s no definitive way to navigate it. I personally do read all the comments and I like engaging with the people who follow me even if it’s negative.”

On finding love with partner and writer director Marc Silverstein “We pretty much knew that we were each other’s person, right from the start. It was very clear to me that I would probably have children with this man. He’s the smartest and best person I had ever met. My best friend Emily started calling him my fiancé before we even went out on our first date. The pressure was very high.” [They married in 2007.]

On her relationship with Kim & Khloe Kardashian “Kim [Kardashian] is so lovely and sweet in person,” or “Khloe [Kardashian] reached out to thank me for supporting her jeans but I would have done it anyway because I’m a fan.”

On her friendship with actress Michelle Williams “It was exciting to work with Michelle again but, in hindsight, we should have picked a project where we actually had scenes together,” [notes Philipps, who also featured in her husband’s screenplay, He’s Just Not That Into You. She stuck around on set to watch Williams film scenes with Schumer:] “She gravitates toward really intense work but the Michelle I hang out with is goofy and funny and light. It was a brilliant opportunity for her to showcase that side with Amy.”

On having no interest in raising a boy “I have no interest in raising a boy. I much prefer girls. I have an older sister, I’m from a family of women with a lot of female friends. I’m a girls’ girl. I just prefer women.”

“This in an extract from the full interview with Busy Philips, available to read in this Friday’s issue of the i newspaper, priced at 60p.”

The full interview appears in this Friday’s issue of the i newspaper, out on 26th April.
