Diane (Diane Keaton) is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage. Vivian (Jane Fonda) enjoys her men with no strings attached. Sharon (Candice Bergen) is still working through a decades-old divorce. Carol’s (Mary Steenburgen) marriage is in a slump after 35 years.

Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011)
If you’re looking for something warm, fun and exotic - The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel starring Judie Dench, Maggie Smith and Ben Nighy is your best bet! The film begins with a group of retirees in need of cheap accommodation and settling for a run-down hotel in India, managed by the bubbly Sonny (Dev Patel). Struggling with cultural adaptation, love and a whole load of drama, this is one to watch with the girls.

 

 

The Intern (2015)
This light-hearted comedy features Robert De Niro as retired 70-year old widow Ben, who is looking to get back on track. Taking a new job at an online fashion company as the Senior Intern, he manages to bring new life to the company, co-workers and to the CEO Jules (Anne Hathaway). His charm and kind nature allows him to form a lifelong friendship with Jules and benefit the company for good.

 

 

Calendar Girls (2003)
Helen Mirren and Julie Walter’s star in Calendar Girls, based on a true story of a group of Yorkshire women who create a nude calendar to raise money for a Leukaemia charity following the passing of one of their husbands. All part of a local Women’s Institute this empowering and feel-good movie is definitely one for the ladies night-in.

 

 

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018)
From the producer of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, recently adapted from the 2008 novel of the same name. Set amid World War 2 on the island of Guernsey, a group of men caught by police sneaking out after curfew use a fake book club named “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society”. The story then follows London-based writer Juliet Ashton (Lily James) who begins exchanging letters with residents on the island of Guernsey, as she feels an urge to visit the island, she soon realises what it was like during the German occupation.

 

 

Hidden Figures (2017)
Take a trip back to the 60s with this heart-warming film based on a true story. The story follows Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) the 3 African-American who changed NASA forever. Being the secret brains behind the one of the greatest operations in history, we are told the untold story of these revolutionary women.

 

 

Bridget Jones's Baby (2016)
Bridget Jones Baby is highly-anticipated finale in the Bridget Jones series. When Bridget splits up with love interest Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), she prepares to make the most of her single life with a successful career and everything she could ask for. Of course, this doesn’t last long as she meets new love-interest Jack (Patrick Dempsey). The drama shortly begins again as she discovers that she is pregnant, and left in a frenzy stuck to find out who the father is.
