Superheroes, Secret Agents, LEGO Ninja’s, Minions, Jedi: Sky Cinema Ready when you are for Summer of Blockbusters

18 July 2018

Sky Cinema will bring viewers a series of brilliant blockbusters over the summer, all available to watch live or on demand, ready when you are.

Coming exclusively to Sky Cinema this summer are some of 2018's biggest movies, including superhero thrillers, family fun, and iconic franchises, ready to enjoy after a day in the sun or stuck inside on a rainy day.

Starting with Marvel hit Thor: Ragnarok, which premieres on Sky Cinema on Friday 20 July, a bumper summer hits full swing in August with some of the biggest blockbusters of 2017 and 2018, including Rian Johnson's critically acclaimed Star Wars: The Last Jedi, smash-hit Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, DC superhero action Justice League and comedic spy caper sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Alongside the high-profile premiere line-up are some exciting new collections, including a celebration of Denzel Washington with bespoke channel Sky Cinema Denzel, which brings fans some of the American actor's best films in one place.

Sky Cinema customers can also look forward to their first ever franchise collection with new channel Sky Cinema DC Heroes, bringing all that is great about the DC Cinematic Universe together in one place, with films including Justice League, Wonder Woman, and more.

Elsewhere, as new blockbuster Mission: Impossible - Fallout hits cinemas, Tom Cruise fans can enjoy some previous Mission: Impossible films, as well as other thrillers including 2017 hit American Made and the reboot of The Mummy on the dedicated returning channel Sky Cinema Tom Cruise.

And with the kids off school for the summer, Sky Cinema Animation is returning with some family favourites, including new premiere The Lego® Ninjago Movie, smash-hit sequel Despicable Me 3, Pixar hits Moana and Finding Dory and Sky Cinema Original Films' popular Monster Family.

Sky Cinema Group Director Ian Lewis said "We’ve got a really exciting line-up of new premieres and dedicated collections coming to Sky Cinema this summer. There's something for everyone, from superhero movies to family favourites and more of 2017 and 2018's biggest blockbusters than you will find anywhere else."

Sky Cinema's summer line-up adds to an already exciting 2018 that has seen the launch of Sky Cinema Original Films, which sees films released on Sky Cinema and in cinemas on the same day. The next Sky Cinema Original Films movie arrives this September with the thrilling Dave Bautista action thriller Final Score, before the much-anticipated Life Itself and the Zac Efron-led Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile premiere in the following months. They form part of an exciting offering on Sky Cinema that also includes a brand new premiere every day, over 1000 movies on demand and more blockbusters closer to cinema release than anywhere else.
