Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man set to suit up alongside Chris Evans’ Captain America in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War
He’ll make his debut in Ant-Man this July, and Marvel have announced that the pint sized hero who will be portrayed by Paul Rudd will be appearing alongside Chris Evans in the upcoming, eagerly awaited Captain America: Civil War.
Rudd plays thief turned superhero Scott Lang in the film and is making a rather surprising appearance alongside the well-known Avenger. Reportedly, there will be appearances from Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johanson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and James “War Machine” Rhodes (Don Cheadle).
Also set to be appearing will be Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Sharon Carter (Emily Van Camp) and Crossbones (Frank Grillo).
It was announced this week that The Hobbit trilogy and Sherlock star Martin Freeman has joined the cast in an unidentified role, with rumours suggesting he’ll be Everett K. Ross who in Marvel Comics lore is a villain to Black Panther and an expert in all things from Wakanda.
Marvel Studios have announced that William Hurt will also be back as General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross from The Incredible Hulk (2008). Paul Bettany will also be returning as The Vision from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
There have also been talks of Spider-Man making an appearance in Civil War, this news is eagerly awaited by Marvel fans and is an appearance that could only make the film even better.
