THE NUT JOB 2: NUTTY BY NATURE – In Cinemas Friday – From The Nut Job to The Lion King to Chicken Run – Best Animal Films

10 August 2017

When the evil mayor of Oakton decides to tear down Liberty Park and build an amusement park in its place, Surly, Buddy, Andie and the rest of the animals are suddenly homeless! Surly tries to fight back, but realizes it’s not going to be easy.

The mayor has got an animal control squad patrolling the park… Precious has been dognapped by the mayor’s hyperactive daughter… And Surly has offended Mr. Feng, an adorable city mouse with deadly kung-fu skills.

Surly realises that he has to put aside his differences with the animals and get everybody to work together in order to defeat the mayor, rescue Precious, and save Liberty Park… Before it’s too late!

To celebrate the upcoming release of the hilarious The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature this August, we’ve chosen our very favourite films with our four legged, furry, feathered and scaled friends!

The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature
The very definition of the word ‘nuts’! Following their antics from the first escapade, Surly the Squirrel and the gang must put their heads together to save their newly found home and nut source, Liberty Park, as the evil mayor plans on turning it into a dysfunctional amusement park.

101 Dalmatians
Calling all dog lovers! This is the ultimate dog mission, where an oddball team including dogs, cats, horses, cows and 101 Dalmatians work together to escape the evil Cruella Deville who wants to make a fur jacket out of the puppies.
From energetic Lucky to mischievous Rolly… there’s never a boring moment when you’re watching this group of adorable puppies.

Finding Nemo
Single father Marlin, the overcautious father of Nemo, is constantly on edge as his son’s yearning for adventure grows by the day. When Nemo is snatched from the ocean Marlin must overcome his fears and brave the open waters, meeting a host of curious and crazy characters on the way!

Madagascar
What do you get when you cross a lion, zebra, giraffe and hippo? A group of great friends living in Central Park zoo, of course. The four friends find their lives turned upside down when Marty the zebra and Gloria the hippo prompts the gang to sneak out of the zoo at night and explore New York. Unfortunately, they get caught and consequently shipped off to Madagascar. The gang, Alex the lion in particular, soon realise where the delicious, juicy steaks came from in the zoo!

The Lion King
It’s got everything you’d want from a film; tension, passion, friendships, humour and to top it all off an amazing soundtrack.

We follow the story of Simba, the son of king-of-the-pride Mufasa, destined to follow in his father’s pawsteps to become the next leader. Simba’s destiny hit early following Mufasa’s tragic death at the paws of his twisted and jealous brother, Scar.

Threatened by Scar’s presence, Simba runs away, meeting two unlikely friends who help him learn the language of hakuna matata (it means no worries).

Chicken Run
For years, chickens have been trying to escape Mr & Mrs Tweedy’s farm. Just when the chickens are about to give up hope, an answer flies right into the coop. Following his grand entrance, Rocky the Rooster begins to teach the hens how to fly, despite the fact that he is actually fooling them all. Against a deadline (literally), tensions rise when the chickens realise the Tweedy’s have intentions of turning them into chicken pie
