Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne feature in the first cast photo from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad
After the reveal of Jared Leto’s Joker, or one version of what he’ll look like, David Ayer took to Twitter again to unveil the first look of the Suicide Squad cast in costume, which included Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as fan favourite Harley Quinn.
Joining Smith’s Deadshot and Robbie in full Harley Quinn glory are, from left to right, Adam Beach (Slipknot), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Karen Fukuhara (Katata), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje (Killer Croc) and Jay Hernandez playing El Diablo. As you can see in the background the assembled cast are standing in front of Belle Reve Penitentiary.
Not present in the shot are Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, who is the woman who assembles the villains as Task Force X (better known as the Suicide Squad) to take on suicidal missions in exchange for a reduced prison sentence. While Jim Parrick (reportedly playing Jonny Frost), Ike Barinholtz (unknown, maybe Dr Hugo Strange), Scott Eastwood (potentially Steve Trevor) as well as new cast members Common and Alex Meraz.
Ayer also posted what Smith looks like in his full Deadshot costume.
Much like Leto’s Joker these images have received mixed reactions and there are rumoured cameos from Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne and Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luther. Shooting for the Suicide Squad film, which is the second in the DCCU slate started April 13 in Toronto with the film due out August 5 2016.
