BRITISH DIRECTOR GARETH EDWARDS BRINGS HOME ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY FOLLOWING WIDESPREAD ACCLAIM AT WORLD PREMIERE IN HOLLYWOOD

UK FANS GIVEN FIRST LOOK AT NEW FILM WITHIN SEVEN KEY CITIES ACROSS THE UK IN ENGLAND, NORTHERN IRELAND, SCOTLAND AND WALES

Following the World Premiere this weekend in LA, British director, Gareth Edwards, The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm will today bring the new Star Wars epic adventure Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to audiences all across the UK in a series of special exclusive fan screenings up and down the country, ahead of the release of the film’s midnight release in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The film has already begun delighting audiences with many celebrity fans and media taking to social media to express their delight at the latest instalment in the Star Wars canon.

Filmed in the UK, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of the Star Wars standalone films and is about a group of unlikely heroes who band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Fans have been invited to these special screenings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Sheffield, Manchester and Birmingham. Joining it’s British director, the film has a strong UK cast including the Academy Award® nominated Felicity Jones, and the newly Golden Globe nominated Riz Ahmed.
