Kew Media Announces New Sci-Fi Thriller 2036 ORIGIN UNKNOWN Starring Katee Sackhoff coming to Digital HD and DVD this August

Leading global distributor KEW MEDIA today announced that its new Sci-Fi thriller 2036 Origin Unknown starring Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Riddick, Oculus), will be released in the U.K. on Digital HD and DVD from 13th August 2018.

Based on a story by Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull (Beyond, Project Kronos) who also directed, 2036 Origin Unknown is written by Gary Hall, produced by Anis Shlewet and James T. Ryan of Parkgate Entertainment and also stars Ray Fearon (Beauty and the Beast, Da Vinci’s Demons), Julie Cox (Children of Dune, The Oxford Murders) and Steven Cree (Outlander, The Titan, Outlaw King).

When a scientist receives an “Origin Unknown” signal from Mars, she must investigate from mission control 150 million miles away on Earth.

Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Wilson, played by Katee Sackhoff, struggles to keep her career as an old-school mission controller in a future where artificial intelligence has made even the smartest human redundant.

Mack was living her dream as a mission control scientist until Martian-One, the first manned flight to Mars, crashed. Among the dead was her father, Jake Wilson.

Years later USPC lead the space race and they’ve replaced mission controllers with advanced artificial intelligence supercomputer ARTi. No hidden motives, no mistakes. Humans are only needed when new ‘Origin Unknown’ objects are encountered and one has just been found on Mars…

Katee Sackhoff (Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Wilson)
Katee Sackhoff is best known for her role as hotshot pilot Starbuck in the critically acclaimed Syfy Channel series “BATTLESTAR GALACTICA”, for which she earned a Saturn Award in 2006 for Best Actress on Television, as well as a significant cult following.

Currently, Katee can be seen starring as Deputy Vic Moretti in A&E’s original drama series “LONGMIRE”, based on Craig Johnson’s mystery novels about Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire.

Most recently, Katee starred in the films GIRL FLU and DON'T KNOCK TWICE and prior to that was seen opposite Vin Diesel in Universal Pictures’ RIDDICK.

Additional film credits include Lionsgate’s THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT 2: GHOSTS OF GEORGIA, HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION, WHITE NOISE 2: THE LIGHT, OCULUS and THE LAST SENTINEL.

On the small screen Katee has had recurring roles on the FOX series “24” and was also cast in the highly anticipated NBC series “BIONIC WOMAN.” She can be seen next on CW’s THE FLASH, playing the guest recurring role of “Star”.

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode first season of sci-fi drama “Another Life” which will star Katee Sackhoff as astronaut Niko Breckenridge as she leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact.

Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull (Director)
HaZ is a writer / director / producer who started out as a Visual Effects artist on feature films such as The Dark Knight and Prince of Persia, before moving into a VFX Supervisor role where he was nominated for several VES awards for shows such as Planet Dinosaur (BBC) and America The Story of US (Discovery).

His mix of creativity and smart production approach lead him to him becoming a VFX Producer on shows such as Poldark Season 1 and The Aliens on Channel 4.

In between VFX he would create short films, one of them, Project Kronos went viral in 2013 landing him a manager in Hollywood and his first feature film development deal with Benderspink as well as development assignments with Paramount 20th Century Fox.

Since then has completed two other short films - IRIS an SYNC both tapping into his love for grounded science fiction and serving as proof of concepts for feature films he has developed.
HaZ's debut feature film (which he also wrote and produced) “The Beyond” was released on Jan 9th 2018 by Gravitas Ventures.

2036 Origin Unknown is his second feature film.

HaZ is in development on a number of TV and Film projects including being tapped to helm the futuristic version of Robin Hood with the Hollywood producer Gianni Nunuro behind films such as 300.
