Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man Is Getting His Own Channel Showing Wall-To-Wall Spider-Man… All Day, Every Day!

MARVEL SPIDER-MAN TAKEOVER ON DISNEY XD +1 IN THE UK AND IRELAND IN JULY

Disney Channels UK and Ireland announce that Spider-man is getting his own channel, runs throughout July and includes world premiere of six Spider-Man shorts + screening of every episode of Ultimate Spider-Man ever made

Broadcast on Disney XD+1 and carried by Sky and Virgin Media it will include the world premiere of six Spider-Man shorts and run throughout the month from July 3rd, 24 hours a day.

Disney Channels UK and Ireland has today announced it will launch a Marvel Spider-Man takeover on July 3rd, which will run for the course of the month on the Sky and Virgin Disney XD +1 channels. Highlights will include the world premiere of six Spider-Man Origin shorts along with a Spider-Man Homecoming 15-minute movie special. Every episode of Ultimate Spider-Man ever made will be broadcast during the course of the month.

Spider-Man is the number 1 action show for ratings on Disney XD.* David Levine, General Manager of Disney Channels UK and Ireland commented “This is the first time that we have created a takeover dedicated to Spider-Man, arguably one of the most popular characters from the Marvel universe and one of Stan Lee’s most venerated creations. The wall-crawler continues to draw kids to Disney XD so what better way to pay tribute to his genius than by giving him his own channel throughout the month of July when the whole world will be going Spidey crazy.”

The Marvel Spider-Man takeover will be sponsored by the automated toy range HEXBUG and launch on the Disney XD + 1 channel ahead of the release of Sony’s Spider-Man Homecoming. HEXBUG will activate sponsorship idents, channel idents, promos and competition spots.

The product line for Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming includes a range of gadgets and toys such as the Sphero Spider-Man app-enabled interactive super hero (Sphero, RRP £149.95), Spider-Man Homecoming Pop! vinyl figures (RRP 12.99-£14.99, Funko) and Spider-Man Homecoming Walkie Talkies (RRP £14.99, IMC), available from Disney Store and all good retailers.

Marvel Spider-Man takeover will be broadcast on Disney XD +1 from July 3-30 in the UK (Sky 608 and Virgin 708).

In Spider-Man Origin Peter is bitten by a radioactive spider and he uses the five steps of the scientific method to diagnose what has happened to him. Taking advantage of his new powers, Peter decides to earn some money as an underground wrestler. When his selfishness prevents him from saving the life of his Uncle Ben, Peter learns the true meaning of his now deceased uncle’s mantra. With great power comes great responsibility!

In Ultimate Spider-Man, a teenage Peter Parker (voiced by actor Drake Bell) juggles the relatable challenges of high school with the extraordinary challenges of being a Super Hero. Nick Fury (voiced by actor Chi McBride) invites Parker to train with his S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, where Peter's alter-ego, Spider-Man, will join forces with four other teenage Super Heroes - Nova, White Tiger, Power Man and Iron Fist, on the greatest action and adventure ever as they work to become Ultimate Super Heroes!
