01 October 2009
Thousands of fans have petitioned to see Rupert Grint's new film on the big screen.
The Harry Potter star has won rave reviews for his performance in coming of age drama Cherrybomb. However, it's still struggling to get a distributor for a cinema release despite it being a festival favourite.
Over 10,000 people have signed a petition in a bid to get the film on the big screen.
A statement from the Cherrybomb Distribution Campaign read, "Many websites that publish features on Cherrybomb are saturated with comments from movie-goers who are eager to see the film.
"Critics are noticing that Rupert Grint completely shakes off his trademark Ron Weasley persona from the Harry Potter movies."
