Disney’s Big Hero 6 and Yo! Sushi launch The Little Hero Sushi Bar

25 May 2015

Today Disney’s Big Hero 6 and YO! Sushi launched THE LITTLE HERO SUSHI BAR, a super-powered pop-up sensation for kids!

Children swapped their school books for chopsticks when they took over the running of a pop-up restaurant on London's Southbank today.

Youngsters spent the day learning about Japanese cuisine, healthy eating and being taught how to make sushi at the pop-up eatery at YO! Sushi.

Seven-year-old Lily Jackson, from Chigwell, Essex, was there with her family and said: "My favourite part has been taking the orders and delivering the different dishes. I've learnt so much about food, too."

Harrison O'Connor, eight, from Woodford, North East London, added: "It was an amazing opportunity to take part in a real running restaurant, just for kids."

Emma Crookes took her 10-year-old son Jake along, and said: "I think it's a fantastic idea to get children to experience healthy food in a fun way."

The Little Hero Sushi Bar was set up in collaboration between the Japanese restaurant and Disney to celebrate today's Blu-Ray & DVD release of Disney's Big Hero 6.

Emma Deabill, operations manager at YO! Sushi, which is renowned for bringing dishes to its customers on an in-store conveyor belt, said: "The partnership with Disney's Big Hero 6 has been great and everyone has loved the film-themed pop up kids’ restaurant this Bank Holiday Monday!

"It's a great way of getting kids to try new healthy dishes.

"Families have loved the interactive experience of kids serving their children around our mini YO! Sushi conveyor.

"There's been face-painting, balloon artists and competitions taking place too which has created a wonderful buzz at the restaurant."
