"It can be confidently said that this is the type of film which cinema goers want to spend their money on"

Destin Daniel Cretton's new film ‘The Glass Castle’, is an awe-inspiring tale of love, family and dreams.

Not a dull moment goes by as we watch the real-life story of author and journalist Jeanette Walls's childhood and coming of age which is a heap of dysfunctionality, beauty, pain and uniqueness.

Admittedly, I had not yet read Jeanette's memoir which the film is based on, but the film carries the story through its own medium, cinematographer Brett Pawlak does a spectacular job of telling the story through stunning shots.

The cast of Brie Larson (Jeanette), Woody Harrelson (Rex) and Naomi Watts (Rose) deliver superb acting, which goes without saying, on a side note Woody should get Oscar buzz, his performance is nothing short of golden.

The child actors deserve a standing ovation and all the hootin’ and hollerin’ you can offer - Ella Anderson (young Jeanette) delivers such a sophisticated and true performance of a little girl who has a special bond with her father and is countlessly let down by him, and as a whole, the quirk of the young cast playing the brood of two care free parents is remarkable.

It can be confidently said that this is the type of film which cinema goers want to spend their money on, films that grip and take ahold of you from start to finish and leave you with a lingering emotion or thought for a few weeks. It certainly did this for me.

I would say this is a must see for dreamers and those who need a dose of inspiration, but no one should be left out from this treat; a must see for all.
