"Just as colourful and witty as its predecessor, Rio 2 is a fun and joyous adventure from start to finish"

Blue Sky seem to be on a roll, they've made memorable hit after memorable hit, and the long awaited sequel to Rio, doesn't miss a step. Just as colourful and witty as its predecessor, Rio 2 is a fun and joyous adventure from start to finish.

We are reintroduced to Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) and Jewel (Anne Hathaway), who are now married with three children and are living a comfortable, domesticated life in Rio. Their new adventure begins when they discover that they may not be the last of their kind and fly off to the Amazon in search of family, whilst being pursued by a vengeful Nigel (Jermaine Clement).

The voice cast are amazing, and the ones we have grown to love; Eisenberg, Hathaway, Clement as well as the supporting cast of Rodrigo Santoro, Jamie Foxx, will.i.am, Leslie Mann, Jake T. Austin, George Lopez and Tracy Morgan all play their parts well and really know their characters. The new additions to the cast are fantastic too, with the standouts being Andy Garcia as Jewel's long lost father and Kristin Chenoweth as Gabi; the poisonous frog that takes a shine to Nigel.

Carlos Saldanha needs to be commended for bringing Rio 2 to the big screen, not only is it entertaining but it is animated beautifully and uses the 3D technology to great effect.
