"I cannot remember a time I have laughed so loud from start to finish"

Aaah University.  The heady days of drinking as much as you could before you threw up, going to a few lectures before drinking as much as you could before you threw up, and writing the off essay before drinking as much as you could before you threw up.  And then there was Family Guy.  Show me one student household at uni that doesn’t have at least one Family Guy boxed set, and I’ll show you a group of people who don’t know how to have a good time.

Unlike a lot of my friends from University, Family Guy is still a part of my life – not a single week goes by without me watching at least one episode.  Recently however, I’ve become slightly concerned.  I don’t laugh as much as I used to with the new episodes – the jokes that were initially hilarious have now become a bit repetitive, the characters seemingly becoming parodies of their former selves.

Thank God therefore for ’Something, Something, Something Dark Side’ (or SSSDS for those of us who are lazy).  If you liked Blue Harvest, then you’ll love this – I cannot remember a time I have laughed so loud from start to finish in a cinema.  It’s the same deal as Blue Harvest, except this time it’s based on The Empire Strikes Back.  All your favourite characters are here – Darth ‘Stewie’ Vader, Hans ‘Peter’ Griffin, not to mention the Evil Monkey, and the Chicken, along with catch phrases and jokes (look out for an AT-AT with a sore knee) that gain renewed vigour outside from the standard Spooner Street environment.

The big question is whether or not it’s worth spending £15 on what is essentially an extended episode of Family Guy.  The answer, unequivocally, is yes –  and if you don’t, think back to uni, and the people that didn’t watch Family Guy – do you REALLY want to be like them?
