SYNOPSIS

Planet Ocean is a fascinating and beautiful new documentary that seeks to explain in simple terms, one of the greatest natural mysteries of our planet – the oceans that surround us.

The 90-minute film is intended to raise awareness of the importance of the ocean to the ecosystem, and to help us understand how collectively, we can do more today to ensure sustainability for tomorrow. A combination of stunning arial shots and fascinating underwater photography, the cinematography is breathtaking, with the film offering a dreamlike insight into the sea life that plays such a vital role in our mere existence.

Narrated by Josh Duhamel (Transformers), and directed by world-renowned documentary film makers Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot, the scale and beauty of the world’s oceans is encapsulated, and the significance of the ecosystem to our planet’s future is made plain.

Yann Arthus-Betrand’s previous work includes HOME, a hugely acclaimed documentary exploring the crucial natural balance between the Earth and the human race occupying it. Michael Pitiot’s career as a documentary filmmaker has taken him all over the world, with previous films detailing his work in Vietnam, the former Soviet Union and Afghanistan.
