SYNOPSIS
She is beautiful, sexy and blessed with the vocal chords of an angel. He is jaded, deceitful and up to his neck in debt. She is Maria Dorland, a legend in her own time. He is Marty Starr, founder of Purple Starr Records. He is also the man who transformed Maria into a household name. In fact, he changed her name from Mavis Davis.
But Maria has aged, her record sales have slumped and half her fans have switched allegiance to Alanis Morissette. Meanwhile, Marty has had his house repossessed, his Jaguar blown up and his life threatened by two unsavoury bench men. Oh yes, and there’s that little problem of his grabbing ex-wife, to whom he owes three months’ alimony.
