Twilight studio to release Polanski’s new film
14 December 2009
The film studio behind the Twilight saga are to release Roman Polanski's latest film.
Summit Entertainment have acquired the North American rights to the troubled director's latest film The Ghost Writer. Based on the novel The Ghost by Robert Harris, Ewan McGregor plays a writer hired to pen the memoirs of Pierce Brosnan's disgraced former British prime minister. Summit plan to release the film early next year.
Polanski was putting the finishing touches to the thriller when he was arrested in Switzerland in September over charges of unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in the US in 1977. He fled America a year later.
He is currently under house arrest in Switzerland.
