Twilight director confirms Pattinson and Stewart romance

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are dating, according to the Twilight director.

There has been fevered speculation that the pair are dating - something they have both denied in the past. However, they were spotted holding hands recently before boarding a private jet in Paris.

And now Catherine Hardwicke, director of Twilight, has revealed that the pair are indeed dating.

Hardwicke said, "After I cast him, I told Rob, 'Don't even think about having a romance with her. She's under 18. You will be arrested.'

"But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, 'OK, I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.'"

New Moon is released on November 20.
