Twilight Dilemma

01 December 2009

While the decision to split the last Twilight book into two films seems like a no brainer - it's actually an expensive dilemma for Summit Entertainment.

If they decided to split the fourth book - Breaking Dawn - into two parts, it would mean that they would have to secure approval with the author Stephenie Meyer once more, and then there is the financial minefield that is the cast members.

Variety are reporting that the cast are all signed up for four films - and if there is a Breaking Dawn Part Two it would mean the likes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner should all expect a bumper pay rise.

Summit will have to move fast though to make a decision if they want New Moon director Chris Weitz to direct the final films. The next instalment, Eclipse, is directed by David Slade, but it seems following New Moon's huge success Weitz is their preferred choice to make Breaking Dawn. But he's sure to be besieged with offers so they'll have to get in there fast.

Twilight fans will be desperate to see what Summit do.
