The Fan Carpet and The Killer Spotlight’s Jonathan Hughes was in attendance at the Preview event for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan.

The prestigious event offered the chance to play through a large section of the game, previously unseen, as well as capturing footage from the game at the event.

Jon got the chance to EXCLUSIVELY interview the development team of Dom Ireland, Andy Nuttall and Gareth Betts!

"It is my great pleasure to introduce to you the first game in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan.

Myself, everyone here at Supermassive Games, and everyone at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment are excited to nally reveal the first of our series of stand-alone, cinematic branching horror games.

Each game in the series will feature a brand- new story, setting, and characters, with the anthology format providing us the opportunity to tap into a variety of horror sub-genres – the team has found over 39 so far, so the creative potential is massive.

We’ve designed all games in The Dark Pictures Anthology to be hugely replayable; in fact there is more branching in Man of Medan than any of our previous games, including Until Dawn.There are multiple endings and multiple scenarios based on the decisions you make in the game. But be careful, as all the playable characters can live, and any and all of them can die, depending on the choices you make.

THE FIRST TALE...
"I’m Tom Heaton, the Game Director for the first title in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan.
The story of Man of Medan starts off on a dive boat in the South Paci c. With a rumoured WWII wreck to find, and plenty of on-deck partying to be had, our group of 4 young Americans and their skipper Fliss get ready for what should be the trip of a lifetime...but it doesn’t go quite to plan. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, they nd themselves trapped on board a ghost ship. Subjected to unimaginable stress and terror, they must try to nd a way to escape the ship and its sinister history.

We chose Man of Medan as the first instalment in The Dark Pictures Anthology because we were fascinated by the legend of the Ourang Medan and by the various theories people have associated with it. It seemed like the ideal setting for a group of friends to be isolated and unable to easily escape the terror."
