Steven Spielberg wants to make a musical

15 December 2011

Hollywood's legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg is famed for the likes of Hook, Schindler's List, Minority Report and the Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park franchises and while he's currently filming Lincoln he revealed that he wants to direct an "old-fashioned" musical.

The three time Academy award winner tells CNN "I'd love to do an old-fashioned musical, where the characters talk to each other and then they sing to each other, I'm such a fan of the Hollywood musical, but I haven't found the right subject matter or the right book or the right music to throw myself into one of them, someday I will."

He also reiterates his commitment to the forth entry in the Jurassic Park franchise adding "We are still working on the story for another Jurassic Park film. There is going to be one! You have to wait and see."

His The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn hits the US on December 21 and his next film War Horse opens in the UK on January 13.
