Sought after Oscar winning Actress Brie Larson set to make Directorial Debut with Samantha McIntyre’s Unicorn Store

Oscar winning Actress Brie Larson, who was named as the titular heroine Captain Marvel for Marvel Studios at Comic-Con last month, will make her Directorial Debut with quirky independent comedy Unicorn Store.

The Hollywood Reporter report that Larson will also star in and Produce alongside David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer via their banner The District, with Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas through their Rhea Films, with their Hercules Film Fund providing the financing.

Unicorn Store is based on an original screenplay by Samantha McIntyre and is the story of a woman named Kit who, after moving back in with her parents, receives a mysterious invitation to a store that will test her idea of what it really means to grow up.

Word is that Unicorn Store had filmmaker Miguel Arteta onboard to Direct with Rebel Wilson in the starring role, however, both left the project as timing never worked out.

Larson previously co-wrote and co-directed the short film The Arm, which won the jury prize at Sundance in 2012 and the sought after Actress has Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire and Dan Baron’s Basmati Blues ready for release and Destin Daniel Cretton’s The Glass Castle and Jordan Vogt-Roberts’s Kong: Skull Island in post production.
