Showgirls to get a sequel

It may have been one of Hollywood's biggest misfires, but Showgirls is to get a sequel.
The 1995 turkey stared Saved by the Bell actress Elizabeth Berkley as a dancer entering the lapdancing world. Directed by Paul Verhoeven, the film was a critical and commercial failure.
However, it has become something of a cult favourite over the years, so fans will be delighted to hear about the follow up.
Showgirls: Story of Hope will feature Rena Riffell's character (a minor role in the original) as she travels to Frankfurt to seek revenge on the people who supplied her brother with a lethal dose of cocaine.
German director Marc Vorlander is on helming duties.
