The anticipation of the release of Peter Jackson's first instalment to his trilogy of The Hobbit is entering fever pitch, and to celebrate The Fan Carpet are pleased to announce the addition of a fantastic set of new images featuring Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield.

The adventure of “The Hobbit” follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug.

Featuring the stellar cast of Benedict Cumberbatch, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Martin Freeman, Luke Evans, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Lee Pace, Billy Connolly, Ian Holm, James Nesbitt, Barry Humphries, Graham McTavish and Stephen Fry the first part of the trilogy comes to cinemas on December 14 this year with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug following on December 13 2013 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again on July 18 2014.
