Rambo no more says Sylvester Stallone

02 May 2010

'Rambo' and 'Rocky' hardman Sylvester Stallone has reported scrapped plans for the fifth installment of 'Rambo', he's been working on the film for awhile now and the title has already been announced as 'Rambo 5: The Savage Hunt', the plot is based on James Byron Huggins' "Hunter" novel that Stallone acquired ten years ago. The only left to do is shoot this thing.

There have been plenty of rumours surrounding 'Rambo 5' it’s a sci-fi. No, it’s a straight-up Rambo flick, where Sylvester Stallone’s one-man army takes on all-comers and shoots them into the middle of next week. No, it’s this. No, it’s that.

'Rambo 5: The Savage Hunt' would have revolved around a military project that develops super-soldiers (half-human abominations) by bringing out their "savagery." When one of these soldiers escapes, Rambo and a Block Ops squad are called in to save the day.

He said “I think Rambo’s pretty well done. I don’t think there’ll be any more. I’m about 99% sure, I was going to do it, I said I’d never talk about this, but with I feel that with Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen."

Sly's latest film 'The Expendables' hits cinemas later this year, with a sequel reportedly coming soon.
