Pitch Perfect 2 Director Elizabeth Banks poised to Direct and Produce a new version of CHARLIE’S ANGELS
It looks as though Charlie’s Angels could be heading back to the big screen with Pitch Perfect 2 Director Elizabeth Banks at the helm.
The Hollywood Reporter report that Banks is on board to produce and direct a new reboot to the classic 1970s action-adventure series.
Word is that Sony are currently in the process of finding a writer to work on a new big-screen adventure for the never-seen Charlie Townsend and his female crime-fighting squad.
The original series featured light-hearted story lines and served as a launching pad for Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Cheryl Ladd, Kate Jackson and Tanya Roberts.
Charlie’s Angels was previously brought to the big screen in 2000 and its sequel Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle in 2003 with Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore as the titular Angels.
An ill fated attempt to revive Charlie’s Angels came and went in 2011 with Minka Kelly starring.
Banks returns to cinemas as Effie Trinket in Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 alongside Jennifer Lawrence on November 19.
