Patrick Dempsey boards Transformers 3

With the recent slew of actors joining Transformers 3 (Frances McDormand and John Malkovich), we have another one for you, Dr. McDreamy himself - Patrick Dempsey.
Paramount Pictures confirmed today that the Grey's Anatomy star is aboard the third installment, apparently he's playing a 'darker' character and is 'pivotal to the plot.'
Effects tests and pre-production for the next robot rumble has started with filming starting next month in America, Africa, China and Moscow.
With all these A-listers joining Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox the film is looking to be taking a different tone than the last. More as we hear it.
