No more press conferences for Clooney

31 December 2009

George Clooney has vowed never to sit through a press conference again.

The Men Who Stare At Goats star is tired of the silly questions and stunts that happen when he takes part in a press conference for his film - with his junket at the Venice Film Festival saw a male stripper, who was posing as a journalist, shed his clothes in front of the shocked actor.

And with his latest film - Up In The Air - enjoying decent box office despite no press conference from Clooney, the actor admits that it's something the media should get used to.

He told Entertainment Weekly, "When you're at a certain place in your career where people know you, it's not like you have to get known.

"I don't want to be more famous. You realise that movies are either going to be successful or not based on the trailer and how it's sold and what people's perceptions of the movie is.

"I'll do the red carpets, but I'm not going to do the press conferences anymore. You focus on a few smart interviews and try to do them every once in a while and make them hard to get."
