LIFF is preparing for another fantastic festival of independent filmmaking from April 13-22 2018 at Kino Bermondsey in Borough

03 April 2018

The London Independent Film Festival (LIFF) is committed to the independent filmmaker, giving special attention to films by first- and second-time directors, films shot with budgets under £100,000, and quality films that, for whatever reason, are unlikely to receive distribution through other channels.

LIFF 2018 will showcase the best of indie filmmaking from the United Kingdom and around the world.

The Opening Night will be on Friday 13th April. We will begin the night with a networking party from 18:00-19:30 in the Kino Bermondsey bar, followed by a block of short films.

After this there will be feature film Winter Ridge (2018), which will screen at 21:00. The second feature directed by Dom Lenoir, Winter Ridge is a psychological thriller about a young detective who is torn apart after his wife ends up in a coma while hunting a serial killer at the same time. The film stars Matt Hookings, Olwen Catherine Kelly, Hannah Waddingham, Alan Ford and Michael McKell and the screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s director and actors.

The festival will continue with shorts blocks and feature films on Saturday 14th 2018 and Sunday 15th, which will also feature a film quiz hosted by Festival Doctor Rebekah Louisa Smith on Sunday 15th from 8pm. The films will continue on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st, and Sunday 22nd.

The Festival will close on Sunday 22nd with feature film The Albanian Recruit (2017), a film directed by Sunaj Raca about Albanian youngsters recruited in criminal groups, followed by a closing night party and awards ceremony celebrating independent cinema.

Event PR will be covered by The Fan Carpet throughout the festival, and there will be additional press and supporters along too. For more information please visit our website and the full schedule of screenings and events can be found on LIFF.
