Is Boyle ready to board Trainspotting again

13 September 2009

Robert Carlyle has revealed that Danny Boyle is "edging closer" to making a sequel to 1996's Trainspotting.

Irvine Welsh's novel, Porno, follows the adventures of characters 10 years after the events of Trainspotting. While Ewan McGregor, who played Renton in the film, has said in the past that he wasn't keen on doing a sequel, Carlyle would work on the follow up for "nothing".

And he insists that Boyle is getting closer to agree to make Trainspotting 2.

Carylye, who played Begbie in the film, said, "For me personally, I would jump through hoops of fire backwards for Danny Boyle. I would do Porno tomorrow for nothing.

"I think there is lots more entertainment to be had from that group of people so I would be up for it, and I know Danny seems to be edging more towards it. After his success at the Oscars, he should be able to pretty much do as he wants."

Boyle won best director Oscar at this year's Academy Awards for his work on Slumdog Millionaire.
