Hope Davis ready for robot rumble in ‘Real Steel’
Hope Davis has reportedly joined sci-fi robot rumble 'Real Steel'. the film is reported to be filmed using the same 3D technique as James Cameron's Avatar.
The near-future sports film sees Hugh Jackman as a former fighter trying to survive in a world that has evolved to embrace even more violent entertainment in the shape of gladitatorial robots bashing each others’ metal minds out. Suddenly lumbered with the son he’s rarely met (Dakota Goyo), Jackman also discovers an unlikely robot warrior on a junk heap and reconnects with his boy as he trains his new pugilist.
The film directed by Shawn Levy off a script by John Gatins, the cast also includes Lost’s Evangeline Lily and Kevin Durand, plus Hurt Locker veteran Anthony Mackie, Dakota Goyo, James Rebhorn and Olga Fonda. Production is expected to begin at DreamWorks later this month with a 2011 release.
