Gossip Girl siren Blake Lively describes Savages sex scenes as awkward

27 June 2012

Gossip Girl babe Blake Lively who is known for big screen outings including The Town, Green Lantern and the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants series has discussed her experience of filming Oliver Stone's Savages.

The sought after actress plays O in the crime thriller, her character is the shared girlfriend of Ben and Chon (Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch respectively) and described the sex scenes she was required to film early on as awkward, telling The Hollywood Reporter "It's really not as exciting as it looks on screen, there's crew members and then there's these naked men walking around. It just makes for an awkward environment."

The film sees her kidnapped by two Mexican drug cartel leaders played by Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek and follows Ben and Chon as they go about rescuing her.

Kitsch recently described their sex scenes as awkward as well, explaining that he and Lively had not known one another for long before filming the sequences, while Stone commented on the relationship between the trio adding "It's an interesting theme to the movie because at the beginning Blake says she loves two men equally, and Salma Hayek questions it.

And by the end of the movie it resolves itself in an interesting way."

Savages opens across the UK on September 28 and also features John Travolta, Uma Thurman, and Emile Hirsch.
