Franco to star in soap

James Franco is to stun his fans by swapping the big screen for a soap opera role.
The Pineapple Express star, who has also appeared in Milk and the Spider-Man films, has signed on to star in enduring US soap General Hospital for two months.
It's not known yet on who Franco will play in the soap, but producers of the show have promised that his character will excite the viewers.
The show's executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps, told SoapNet.com, "It's an honour that an actor of James calibre would choose to spend some of his time in Port Charles (the fictional town setting of the show).
