Sequel to Blockbuster “The LEGO Movie” Takes Top Spot in UK Box Office
Audiences rushed to be among the first to see the eagerly anticipated “The LEGO Movie 2” this weekend, propelling the film to #1 and building to a stellar £4,015 in box office receipts.
The exciting new animated action-adventure sequel opened to enthusiastic response on February 8th across 573 sites, offering fans new worlds to explore in the fantastic LEGO universe. Its success echoes the popularity of the film that started it all, the 2014 global hit “The LEGO Movie.”

“The LEGO Movie 2” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are now facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a galaxy filled with fantastic planets, strange characters and catchy new songs. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
