While she'll next appear with Ewan McGregor in Lasse Hallström's Salmon Fishing in the Yemen word is that British beauty Emily Blunt has signed on Tom Cruise in the upcoming sci-fi from Doug Liman entitled All You Need Is Kill.

The Groundhog Day style time-loop drama from Warner Bros. centres on a soldier fighting aliens in a future war, only to relive his last day over and over before he dies.

Erwin Stoff, Tom Lassally and Jason Hoffs will produce the film, with Dante Harper and Joby Harold writing the script.

Variety report that The Adjustment Bureau siren will take on the female lead as another soldier that fights the war alongside Cruise.

Blunt has a few films out this year, first up after Salmon Fishing in the Yemen will be Nicholas Stoller's rom-com The Five-Year Engagement with Jason Segel on June 22, followed by Lynn Shelton's drama Your Sister's Sister on June 29.

She'll round off the year with the release of sci-fi actioner Looper from filmmaker Rian Johnson alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis on September 28.
