The Crown’s Claire Foy reportedly in Talks for Coveted Role of Lisbeth Salander in Sony’s adaptation of THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB
She can currently be seen as Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s acclaimed series The Crown, and word is that sought after talent Claire Foy has landed the role of Lisbeth Salander in Sony’s adaptation of THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB!
The Hollywood Reporter report that Sony have chosen the Golden Globe winning Actress Claire Foy over Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's Felicity Jones to land the coveted role of the super hacker made famous by Noomi Rapace and Rooney Mara!
Directed by Don't Breathe’s Fede Alvarez, THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB is the fourth novel in the Millennium series, focuses on the characters Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist. Written by David Lagercrantz, that finds our protagonists caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.
Word is that Foy is only doing one more season of Netflix's lavish period drama The Crown as the young Queen Elizabeth II, as writer Peter Morgan is refocusing the story around the older monarch, she recently commented "I'm on the bench. I'm not even on the bench – I'm just in a different team on my own, unemployed! We're gone, we're gone.
That's not a shock – we always knew when we signed up to it, and also not to be funny but it's also a real plus.

All that's standing in the way of a deal now is Claire Foy's schedule and she does land the role, THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB is expected to begin production later this year with a release date currently set for October 5 2018.
Foy will next be seen on the big screen in Andy Serkis’ Breathe alongside Andrew Garfield which arrives in Cinemas on October 27.
