Crowe denies Miller axe

28 January 2010

Russell Crowe has denied he had anything to do with Cate Blanchett replacing Sienna Miller on the Robin Hood movie.

Miller was originally due to play Maid Marian in Ridley Scott's take on the classic British tale, but she was eventually deemed too young to play Crowe's love interest.

But Crowe insists the decision was nothing to do wiht him.

"It wasn't my call, actually, it's more that I'm too old and fat! But Cate brings something else. The way we changed the character, we needed somebody who was going to be resilient. And Cate is superb in this film. She was excellent to work with and a great partner in crime."
