Netflix Unveil the First Look at Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in Season 3 of Acclaimed Drama THE CROWN

Netflix have unveiled the First Look at Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in the acclaimed series THE CROWN!

The Crown follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the 20th century.

In the photo, Elizabeth (Colman) is drinking a cup of tea and appears to be taking breakfast at the Palace.

Colman takes on the role from exiting actress Claire Foy for the next two series of the royal drama, which picks up in 1956 and continues through to 1963, Foy portrayed the monarch in the first 2 series of the Golden Globe winning show.

Season 3 will be shot back-to-back with Season 4 and will also see Helena Bonham Carter step into the role of Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies will play Prince Philip, Jason Watkins will play Prime Minister Harold Wilson and Erin Doherty will play Princess Anne, the daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

THE CROWN IS EXPECTED TO RETURN TO NETFLIX IN 2019
