Blunt hits out at British film critics
06 January 2010
Emily Blunt has told British film critics to "watch the History Channel" instead after her latest film was accused of being historically inaccurate.
Blunt's The Young Victoria has just been released in the US, where it seems to be enjoying a more favourable reaction from critics over there than here. The film, which tells the story of Victoria's marriage to Prince Albert, was released last year in the UK - where it was slammed by some critics over its historic inaccuracies.
Blunt told the LA Times, "Watch the History Channel if you want it literal and historically perfect. Over here, people accept it as being a love story, allowing themselves to be swept away by it, rather than getting too caught up in the details."
