Best Picture Nominees Imagined as Pop-art, remembering Warhol and looking ahead at this Sunday’s Oscars

23 February 2017

It was 30 years ago this week that Andy Warhol passed away. The populariser of Pop and artist-in-chief of 1960’s New York left an indelible mark on the culture around him.

To commemorate his talent, whilst looking ahead to this weekend’s Oscars, the design team at Shutterstock have reimagined each of this year’s Best Picture nominees in the style of a particular pop artist.

It is an annual tradition for Shutterstock’s design team to challenge each other to create posters following the rules and aesthetic of a particular designer or design movement.

So, in light of the anniversary of Warhol’s death and the build-up to the Oscars, we thought your audience would be interested in seeing the images.
