Alicia Silverstone teams with Yorgos Lanthimos and Colin Farrell for Psychological Drama THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER
Clueless favourite Alicia Silverstone is set to team with Colin Farrell in The Killing of a Sacred Deer from The Lobster filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos.
Currently filming in Cincinnati, The Killing of a Sacred Deer centres around Steven (Farrell), a charismatic surgeon forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart when the behavior of a teenager (Barry Keoghan) he has taken under his wing turns sinister.
Deadline report that the stellar cast of the psychological drama features Nicole Kidman, Bill Camp, Sunny Suljic and Tomorrowland rising star Raffey Cassidy.
Written by Lanthimos and his regular collaborator Efthymis Filippou, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer will see Kidman as Farrell’s wife whilst Silverstone will play the mother of the boy.
Distributed in the States by A24, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer will be Produced by Lanthimos alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe’s Element Pictures.
Film4, the Irish Film Board and New Sparta Films are backers and HanWay Films has worldwide sales.
Silverstone will next be heard as Belka in Mike Disa’s Space Dogs Adventure to the Moon, Onur Tukel’s Catfight and Huck Botko’s Who Gets the Dog? awaiting release.
